Maybe the only thing each of us can see is our own shadow.
Carl Jung called this his shadow work. He said we never see others. Instead we
see only aspects of ourselves that fall over them. Shadows. Projections. Our
associations.
The same way old painters would sit in a tiny dark room and see/trace the image of
what stood outside (aspects of ourselves) a tiny window, in the bright sunlight.
We see our fear, anxiety, anger, sadness, guilt, shame that was projected into them and give it to them like we think that colors come from objects.
it's like people bring out the worst in us and we blame this badness to them. when people bring the best in us, then we claim it for ourselves.
we are angry because we are angry that he makes me angry. it's the martial skills in communication/relationship like in fighting arena, we bring out their weakness to beat them.
