Enlightenment

I asked God to give me a good reason to wake up in the morning
I asked Him to show me heaven
I asked Him to live without pain
I asked Him tell me the meaning of life
I asked Him end suffering and reach enlightenment

And He creates a woman
and for a moment, I am one
reaching beyond time and space
to fly above the sky
leaving the miserable world below

having courage I never knew I had
for the first time make peace with death
willing to give my life to another person
and for a moment, I am enlightened

she is my guru
who wakes me from illusion
and show me eternal bliss
by being in the present

even though those who heal can also break
the drug that has a nasty aftereffect
I will go through hell to taste heaven
like dealing with the thorns to grow roses

And He creates a woman
and for a moment, I am healed
