Self

There is always conflict between self and others in consciousness. Self consciousness is recorded in two ways, by habit and by strong emotional impression (traumatic emotions). Traumatic emotion experience produce stronger emotional reaction (radical effect) than the habitual reaction. Self consciousness by habitual reaction is determined by competence. Severe traumatic experience produced more Self Consciousness. Less competence experience produce more Self Consciousness. Regarding self-others dynamic, self consciousness goes through the stages of identity: Conformity, 2) Dissonance, 3) Resistance and Immersion, 4) Introspection, and 5) Integrative Awareness.
The stages start from other's identification and end up with self identification. Traumatic experience or incompetence place us at conformity where we identify with others/environment and we try to regulate others/environment eventually when we get over trauma/more competence, we integrate the self and regulate the self.

Our memory of self is created from hearing or telling our selves about our self, like remembering an event from the old photo. We may create two self, the real and ideal self. The real self is our rejected secret private self. The real self is usually repressed beyond conscioused and thus angry. The ideal self is our mask that we create to please others.
