Closed mind

Two tasks: seek to know more about the world and to protect themselves from the world. The need for defense against disturbing information gets stronger, the curiosity about the world gets weaker.
"Belief system" and "disbelief system". To be open about the disbelief system is to have an open mind.

Insecure or frightened, cling desperately to belief system and busy defending self against threats to take in information about disbelief system.

Intensional orientation - the habit of guiding self by words alone.

Fixated response, unable for adaptive response, latah, autism
Insolubility

Institutional inertia, extential approach
